Birds of Kentucky: Bald Cardinal

2014-08-18 - Shelbyville, KY - Photo by Pen. Although this beleaguered guy might disagree, the Bird Guys at the Tulsa Audubon Society say that balding in cardinals and blue jays is not something to get too worried about. It's usually caused by mites that the birds can't reach, and the feathers generally grow back in a few weeks.

News from Campbellsville University

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - Campbellsville University president Michael V. Carter welcomed members to the fall Church Relations Council (CRC) meeting with an update on the busiest summer in the life of the university from mission outreach to new academic programs starting this fall and expanding sports areas to meet student interest.

Carter said to think of CU's history and mission as online student numbers grow, and CU has the challenge of how to provide the same experience to them as to on-campus students. He said, "In order to meet this need and keep to the Christ-centered commitment, the School of Theology has developed a new online chapel and the university is now able to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to Campbellsville University students all around the world."

By Vonnie Kolbenschlag
Commentary

HOORAY!

I, citizen of Columbia, am so pleased that the building that once was looking so forlorn now has a wonderful repaired and painted facade.

Would that all our city officials might give a written round of public praise and recognition to persons who improve their properties.
