Ralph R. Waggener: Apologies for mistake in last Smiles issue

By Ralph Waggener
Editor & Publisher, It's Just for a Smile News

I just discovered a big mistake in my April 15 issue of It's Just For A Smile News Issue. For some reason I used I million dollars in place of one hundred thousand dollars that Chief of Police Jason Cross said they collected in the raids of drug users and or users.

I knew that was correct when I wrote the story, but for some reason I used $1 million. I would like to apologize to the Mayor, Chief Cross and the City Council for using the wrong figures and I will run an apology and a correction in the next Smiles issue. Can't blame no one, I did it and I was wrong, I even proofed the article 2 times and just did not see my mistake. Thanks and apologies to all concerned with in the city government and my readers. - Ralph Roy Waggener

W.M. Feese, JR. announces retiremen effective April 30, 2014

Letter from W.M. Feese, Jr.,

Yesterday (April 30th) was my last officoa;l day as the Property Valuation Administrator of Adair County. As most of you know, for twenty eight years and five months I have served in that capacity. Through it all, in good days and a very few bad days, I have thoroughly enjoyed working for the citizens of this great county.

It took a lo of faith back in 1985 for the voters of Adair County to entrust us with such an important position in local government. We worked hard in that election and in each subsequent election since that time. We could never have accomplished this without the help of a lot of dear and cherished friends. We have been truly blessed during these years in the office of Property Valuation Administrator. We have been blessed with great deputies as well as having a good relationship with the other elected county officials.

We would like to personally thank each Adair countian, but time and circumstances will not permit that, so we are using the news media o express our sincere gratitude and thankfulness for all of you and are looking forward to seeing many of you in the future. God Bless Adair County! With heartfelt gratitude,

W.M.Feese, Jr.
Adair County P.V.A. (Ret.)
