Roberts named NAIA Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

Roberts helped the Lindsey Wilson women's track and field team win their first-ever Mid-South Conference Championship

COLUMBIA, KY - Chanel Roberts has been named the NAIA Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, the national office announced on Wednesday, April 30, 2014.




Roberts picks up her first national track and field honor after her performance at the Mid-South Conference Championships on April 25-26, 2014.

The Radcliff, KY, native won the high jump and shot put events and took fourth place in the long jump.

In the high jump, Roberts set a new program record with a height of 1.60 meters. In the shot put event, she shattered the previous MSC Championship record of 12.61 meters by hitting a distance of 14.70 meters to win the event.

Roberts also took home a fifth-place finish in 100 meter dash track event with a time of 12.94. She combined for 29 total points of the Blue Raiders total of 185.

For her efforts, Roberts was named the Mid-South Conference Women's Outdoor Track and Field Freshman of the Year. She helped Lindsey Wilson win their first-ever track and field Mid-South Conference Championship. Charles Balcom, Lindsey Wilson College
