COLUMBIA, KY - Bailey Mize hit a three-run home run to help No. 8 Lindsey Wilson softball earn an 8-4 game two victory on Friday and split the Mid-South Conference series with Rio Grande (Ohio). The RedStorm (28-17, 20-14 MSC) won the first game 7-4.

Thursday, April 24th, marked one of the most important transitions that has transpired in years - if not decades - for not only the Adair County school system but for Adair County as a whole. However, many of you have no idea what this largely unnoticed event was, let alone how it affects you. It has taken place for years with little or no fanfare. It was important to the children who were involved, an important rite of passage we have all enjoyed at some point.

Reba F. Franklin, 74, Russell County, KY (1939-2014)

She was a homemaker and a member of the Word of God Church, Russell Springs, KY. She was a native of Jamestown, KY and a resident of Russell Springs, KY, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Osco and Anna Pearl Bell. Her husband, Leon Franklin, survives. She leaves 44 direct and three step living descendants.

CU waives application fees for students at closed KY school

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - When Mid-Continent University in Mayfield, Ky. announced it had to close the institution, an unexpected hardship was placed on their over 2,000 students.

"Campbellsville University is standing by to assist their students in any way possible," said Dave Walters, vice president for admissions and student services. "A large percentage of their students were enrolled in adult learning extension sites and online programs, and CU offers a variety of programs specifically designed to meet the needs of students across a wide spectrum."

He was brought here this morning after being found on the road near Greensburg Street in Columbia, KY.

This dog is very afraid of storms.

Welding, Health Science teachers approved for next year at ACHS
