CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - When Mid-Continent University in Mayfield, Ky. announced it had to close the institution, an unexpected hardship was placed on their over 2,000 students.

"Campbellsville University is standing by to assist their students in any way possible," said Dave Walters, vice president for admissions and student services. "A large percentage of their students were enrolled in adult learning extension sites and online programs, and CU offers a variety of programs specifically designed to meet the needs of students across a wide spectrum."

Walters said CU staff would continue to work to provide expertise in the areas of admissions, academic advising and financial aid counseling.

In order to assist the students in a consistent and timely manner, a custom email address is available to MCU students MCUhelp@campbellsville.edu, to move these unique students directly to CU's Center for Distance Education (CDE).

Dr. DeWayne P. Frazier, associate vice president for academic affairs, said, "The staff of the Center for Distance Education (CDE) is ready to help MCU students quickly connect to the CU location nearest their program plan and location." He said the faculty is also working diligently on the evaluation of the curriculum to assist with the ease of transition to CU programs.

"We are praying for the MCU student body, their faculty, staff and coaches as well as their community," Walters said, "This unfortunate event has created a time of uncertainty and hardship on each of them." Linda Waggener is marketing and media relations coordinator for Campbellsville University

Campbellsville University is a widely acclaimed Kentucky-based Christian university with more than 3,600 students offering 63 undergraduate options, 17 master's degrees, five postgraduate areas and eight pre-professional programs. The website for complete information is campbellsville.edu.
