Dr. Robert L. Shuffett, Green County, KY (1922-2014) He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Church of Christ Spurlington Road. He was a Medical Doctor from 1946 to present. He was a WWII Veteran having served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged as a Medical Officer-Captain. A member of the American Legion Rod Lowe Post #124 and the James L. Pruitt V.F.W Post #5813, and was an avid checker player. He was a native of Green County, the son of the late Vernonn Shuffett and Pearl Dowell Shuffett. His marriage to Janice Rose Egbert spanned some 30 years, until her death in 1976. Howard Matthews, Lindsey Wilson College, (1914-2014) He was a native of Barren County, KY and taught Bible and Religion at Lindsey Wilson College for 18 years. In Columbia he and his wife Eula Mae were treasured members of the Columbia United Methodist and were much loved members of the Lindsey Wilson College Community, and are very warmly remembered by all they met while here. She was a member of a highly regarded Adair County family, the daughter of the late Robert and Alta (Price) Akin. She was the widow of the late William Calhoun. She leaves 7 direct living descendants and many relatives in Adair and elsewhere in Kentucky, as well as in Indiana Audrey Ellen Calhoun, age 84 passed away unexpectedly at home in New Castle, IN, Sunday, March 30, 2014.
