Christina Scott, Adair County, KY (1957-2013)

She was a native of Osceola, Iowa, and a resident of Fairplay, KY, at the time of her death. She leaves two direct and four step living descendants. She was a U.S. Army Veteran, a retired secretary, working for G & G Tractors for 23 years, and, most recently, at Billy Rice Auto Sales.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 3, 2014 at 1:30pmCT/2:30pmET, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Bob McCann officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be after 12pmCT/11pmET, Friday, at the funeral home.

Bernard Ridge Church of God holds ground breaking ceremony

The Bernard Ridge Church of God on 170 Stephens Ridge Road held a ground breaking for their new Family Worship Center on December 21, 2013.

Construction will begin soon for their new 15,600 sq. ft. church.

It will be built across the road from the existing church.

Special attendees were: South Central Designs Benton Fudge, Administrative Bishop Bruce Rabon, Honorable Judge Executive Gary Robertson, representatives from the Bank of Jamestown, long time members Henry J. (Sonny) Aaron and R. V. Stephens. - Marcia Skaggs

Lewis H. Gupton, 86, Taylor County, KY (1927-2013)

He professed faith in Christ and attended God's Grace Church. He was a Korean veteran having served his country honorably in the United States Army with Battery B 623rd FABN. He was a retired farmer and construction worker and former employee of Bourbon Cooperage and Fruit of the Loom and had served as a Campbellsville Police Officer and Taylor County Sheriff's DeputyHe was a native of Taylor County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of the lateRobert Gupton and Sally Sanders Gupton. His wife of 64 years, Marie Barnes Gupton, survives. He leaves 17 direct living descendants.

COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team defeated Tennessee Temple 83-60 on Monday night, December 30, 2013, at Biggers Sports Center.

Lindsey Wilson was led by a combined effort tonight starting with Daronte' Clark who finished the game with 16 points. Alex Giergen and Kevin Bradshaw had career highs with 13 and 11 points respectively. Keshaun Mayfield had 10 points, seven assists and six rebounds.D'on Hall finished the game with eight points, seven assists and six rebounds.
