Christina Scott, 56, of the Fairplay community, died Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 8:42amCT at her home after an illness.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 3, 2014 at 1:30pmCT/2:30pmET, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Bob McCann officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be after 12pmCT/11pmET, Friday, at the funeral home.



Christina Scott, Adair County, KY (1957-2013)


She was born January 9, 1957, in Osceola, Clarke County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Ethel Fisher McVay and the late Calving McVay. She died Tuesday, December 31, 2013, in Fairplay, Adair County, KY, at the age of 56 years, 11 months, and 22 days.

She was a U.S. Army Veteran, a retired secretary, working for G & G Tractors for 23 years, and, most recently, at Billy Rice Auto Sales. She was preceded in death by her father, Calvin McVay. Survivors Include:
  • Her mother: Ethel Fisher McVay of Peru, Iowa

  • One daughter: Shannon (Bronson) Gadberry of Columbia, KY

  • One stepson: Doug Scott of Columbia, KY

  • Two brothers: Donald McVay of Iowa & David McVay of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Diana Boyd of Iowa

  • One grandchild: Cody Gadberry

  • Three step-grandchildren: Anthony Alley, Jonathan & Corey Scott
