Colonel Herbert B. Mattingly, Glasgow, KY (1920-2013) He was a much decorated hero. He was awarded the Purple Heart in World War II. and received the Bronze Star for service in the Korean War.and the Korean War, and received the Bronze Star. He was the patriarch of a distinguished Kentucky family now widely scattered. A daughter, Sue M. Smith (Jamie) is a resident of Columbia, KY. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. Colonel Herbert B. Taylor County, KY structure fire contained to garage, vehicle At 9325 Old Lebanon Road, Taylor County, KY By Anne Sanders Taylor County firefighters responded to a structure fire at 9325 Old Lebanon Road, Campbellsville, KY, on Sunday, April 29, at 11:57pmET to a structure fire at property owned by Robert Rogers. Upon arrival firefighters found a garage fully involved. The fire was contained to the garage and a vehicle parked in the garage. The cause of the fire has not been determined. The program was designed to improve the health and performance of feeder cattle and tap market premiums producers can attain by pre-conditioning calves prior to selling. During the development, input was sought by numerous industry experts including local and UK veterinarians, stockyard facilities, cattle buyers, the Kentucky Beef Network, UK beef specialists, and of course local producers. Stockyards in both Russell and Taylor Counties have agreed to accept and promote feeder calves which have been certified by the program. Gina Hinebaugh, DSB Buffs Booty Call, win at Powderly, KY Gina Hinebaugh and her horse DSB Buffs Booty Call, placed 1st in their class at the I.K.I. (Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana) Miniature Horse Show in Powderly, Muhlenberg County, KY, this past weekend. They also went on to receive one senior champion and a reserve champion from both judges and also a reserve grand champion. Winning at this show also qualifed them to go to nationals in Oklahoma City, OK, later in the year.
