Commends library board for considering different hours Writer favors evening hours. She writes, 'Please vote for the new library hours to increase access to the library for all members of our community.' Margo Miller writes: Adair County has a wonderful resource in our local library. It is a shame that many citizens working normal business hours don't have an opportunity to take advantage of this service their tax dollars support. I think it is important that the library be open at least one evening a week for those who are unable to visit Monday through Friday between 8am and 5pm, or on Saturday morning before noon. Opening the library one day a week until 8pm would offer the services to a whole new group of citizens, including school students who depend on a parent to drive them to the library. I highly commend the Library Board and staff for offering to be flexible in their work hours in order to provide the community greater access to these important assets. Please vote for the new library hours to increase access to the library for all members of our community. Maury Lewis also wonders about disposition of Family Resource House Comments re article 56981 Wonders how surplus building will be removed Maury Lewis writes: I was wondering this also. I am sure there are things that can be reused inside and out. - Maury LewisGood question: The answer should come at the Adair County School Board meeting, at 7pmCT/8pmET, at 1204 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. (AGENDA). The school board is apparently looking at the long term cost and liabilities of keeping the building, and their top priority appears to be to clear the space for other use, but if someone is willing to accomplish that end and pay the district to do so, betcha they will listen. Maybe someone will buy it and move it to another location. - EW 2013-01-17 00:20:03 | Comments | Printable version
