The Indians improved to 3-1 in district play and 12-6 on the year. The Indians had won six of their last seven contests going into Friday night's homecoming match up with Nelson County. After a slow start Coach Fudge went to his bench and got some outstanding play as the Indians went on an 8-0 run to pull ahead 15-7 at the end of the first period. Junior forward Ty Bennett connected on a put back and a trey during the run. The Tribe extended their lead to 22-7 before Marion battled to within 29-21 at halftime. Junior point guard Matt Fudge got the hot hand in the third period scoring seven of his 15 points as the Indians pulled ahead 47-35 after three periods. In the fourth period eighth grader Kel Stotts scored seven of his team high 16 points and eighth grader Chance Melton tossed in six of his 13 points as the Indians pulled away for a 64-46 victory. Rounding out the scoring for the Indians were Ty Bennett 8, Jayden Willis 7, Zach Hutchison 3, and Jake Hixson 2. Also seeing action were Marshall Shelley, Tanner Pooler, Colton Back, Jacob Pooler, Gabriel Alfaro, Trevor Willis, Aaran Taylor Kyle Burton, and Trent Jones. Melton led the Indians with seven rebounds while Fudge dished out five assists. Next ACHS Basketball Homecoming ACHS Basketball Homecoming festivities will take place on, Friday, January 18, 2013, between the Indians and Lady Indians Varsity games against Nelson County, at Adair County's John Burr Memorial Gym, 526 Indian Drive, Columiba, KY.
