Amen to: The Consequence of Our Actions Comments re article 51500: The Consequence of Our Actions by Barbara Armitage Jennifer Parker writes: Amen to this article. I've written in the past regarding people passing in no-pass zones and this is another example of how people drive with no regard to the laws that are in place to protect our lives. My husband and I both have witnessed - on two separate incidents in the past week and a half - semi trucks running the same stop sign getting off the southbound exit of the parkway onto 61 South by Walmart. The one I saw was a UPS semi! It's just so unbelievable the disregard these drivers have for the lives and safety of others. - Jennifer ParkerA CM Note: Thanks, Jennifer Parker. And before anyone thinks your letter is aimed at one class of drivers, we'd like to add that for the most part, commercial drivers - especially UPS drivers - behave far better than others. The problem, we think, is with just few bad drivers; we think, too, that the situation is at its worst with those who drive in a hostile manner - the few road bullies in cars, trucks, and on motorcycles who make us feel unsafe and threatened. - EW 2012-04-25 05:01:18 | Comments | Printable version
