Maury Lewis says Alabama has peaches to match Georgia

Maury Lewis writes:
We just returned from a trip to the South.

LA (Lower Alabama) and Northwest Florida and going down and coming back we stopped in Chilton County, Alabama and bought peaches.

The peaches are really good and really juicy and worth stopping for.Chilton county - Clanton is the name of the city - is south of Birmingham and north of Montgomery.

There are three or four exits to Clanton and there are places off of each exit to buy.

We bought at the exit that has the HUGE peach water tower.

If you think Georgia is the only true peach state you need to try these peaches. --Maury Lewis

Lindsey VP Bettie Starr congratulates A-teams

"On behalf of everyone in the Lindsey Wilson community, I congratulate the members of the Adair Middle School International Championships of Future Problem Solving team on their top-10 finish. The Adair County School System is also to be commended for supporting their participation. There is nationwide concern about U.S. students not being able to compete with international students, but the performance of the Adair Middle school team clearly illustrates that top U.S. students can successfully compete with students from other countries in the realm of problem-solving. It is particularly important that the competition focuses on creative problem-solving related to global issues. A focus on these two issues -- higher-order thinking and intercultural understanding -- is important in preparing students for college and for the world of work."

Seems like 2 miniature horses, both mares (one mare is blind in one eye... she does have partial vision.) are trying to revert to their primal ways, and have taken flight of hoof against their owners wishes. If anyone happens to see 2 very small mini horses in the Chestnut Grove/Redlick Road area Please call Chris at (859) 544-0603. They tend to bolt when attempts are made to apprehend them so, other means of recapture may have to be implemented/ 3 little boys would like see their steeds safely home. Thanks You. - Cynthia Meyer
