He was a member of a large, highly regarded Adair Co., KY family. He was a retired supervisor for General Electric and a member of Davison Memorial United Methodist Church. Funeral services and burial will be in his adopted Bullitt Co., KY

Doyle Wayne Pickett age 73 years of Shepherdsville, KY formerly of Adair County passed away Monday, June 13, 2011.

Funeral service Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 1pmET. at Davison Memorial United MethodistChurch 265 S. Buckman St. Shepherdsville, KYInterment in Brookland Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects from 2pm-8pmET, Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Schoppenhorst, Underwoodand Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road and after 11amET, Thursday, June 16, 2011 at his church.


Doyle Wayne Pickett, Adair Co. native (1938-2011)

He was born on Thursday, February 24, 1938 in Columbia, Adair Co., KY. He was the son of the late C.C. and Hazel Blakeman Pickett. HE died Monday, June 13, 2011, at the age of 73 years, 3 months, and 20 days.He was a retired supervisor for General Electric and a member of Davison Memorial United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Marjorie Burris Pickett of Shepherdsville, KY and the following:
  • Two daughters: Amy Jill Maddox and Mandy Jo Wells and husband Jason

  • One son: Jeffrey Wayne Pickett

  • Two brothers: Roger Pickett and wife Joyce of Shepherdsville, KY, and Gayle Pickett and wifeSue Todd of Shepherdsville, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Gracie and Grant Wells, Nicolas Wayne and Emma Jayne Maddox

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by sister and brother in law, Shirley and Richard Henley, and a brotherRonnie Pickett.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Davison Memorial UnitedMethodist Church building fund or to Hosparus.
