We will be having our annual car show at the Fairgrounds on Monday, September 1, 2008 (Labor Day). This is our 10th show and we are expecting to break records. We will post more information about the show at a later date.

Reclaiming our streets, reclaiming our lives:
Google makes it easier

Community headed in right direction! Bull Runner has lived in two communities where walking and biking everywhere was possible. She used a Googling walking map to get distance and directions from Tucker's Station to Fairgrounds, and, with Amazonian strides, beats their estimated time! Applauds Rotarians for Walk Around the World efforts

By Barbara Armitage

Only twice in my life I've been lucky enough to live in a community where it was possible and safe to walk or bike nearly every where I needed to go first in the planned community of Peachtree City, Georgia in the early 70's and then later in South Korea.

Whether Columbia can turn it's self around and become a pedestrian friendly community is yet to be seen. However all change must start somewhere and the Rotary Club guiding us in the right direction.

Meeting to Save Pinewood Country Club Tues., August 12, 2008

    By Eric Goodin

There is a meeting scheduled for Tuesday night, August 12, 2008 at 7:00pm at Pinewood Country Club with this goal: To Save Our Club.

We ask that all Adair County citizens who understand the value the club is to our community to come out and support us in this meeting.

Several local business men and women have heard about this and are concerned that Pinewood is in need of the communities help.

As business people understand, the country club is a very important asset to Columbia/Adair Country, for recreational purposes, for our Adair County student and Lindsey Wilson Collegiate golfers, as well as being a big asset for economic development. We ask that you come support us at this meeting. Thank You.
