Remembering Glenwood Williams:
He was mentor in all things Knifleyan

Thoughts from a friend on hearing of the passing of Glenwood Williams

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

It was with deep sadness that I read of the passing of Glenwood Williams.

On occasion we have the opportunity to meet a stranger with whom we immediately form a bond. For some reason Glenwood took a liking to me the first time we met and from then on would always leave whatever group he was with and come to sit with me when I visited the local diners.

Over the years Glenwood trusted me enough to share some deep parts of himself and the bond became one of true friendship.

I looked to Glenwood as my mentor in all things Knifleyan and as my teacher for cussedness in general.

The Crusty part of COF is in fact a tribute to my friend and he will be sorely missed.
