Five airlifted to Lexington following KY 70 3-vehicle head-on

POLICE REPORTS

Five persons were injured and required airlifts to Lexington, KY, in a three car accident on KY 70, six miles west of Liberty, KY.

The accident occurred at around 1:00pmET. Jacob Miller, 22, Liberty, was operating a 1995 Dodge, traveling east on KY 70. A 1998 Chevrolet driven by Thomas Hayes, 41, Liberty, left the road to avoid a collision with the Miller vehicle, but was stuck in the side by it; The Jacob Miller vehicle continued on and struck a 2000 Chevrolet operated by Fred Ruiz head on.

Adair/Clinton Black Ice run ends 6-3 against Indiana

The A/C Black Ice, representing the state of Kentucky and playing in the final pool game in the Central Regional Tournament in South Bend,IN was defeated by Indiana 6-3 today.

This ends the run for a chance to be in the Little League Senior World Series.

We are still very proud of these young ladies accomplishments and wish them luck in their future softball careers.

Thanks also to the many who supported these players with donations to make the trip possible.

Campbellsville U Graduates 327 in Spring 2008 Commencement

Adair, Casey, Cumberland, Green, Metcalfe, Russell, and Taylor County graduates listed first, below, followed by other Kentucky, other states, and internatonal students

A total of 327 students received academic degrees upon completion of all graduation requirements during two spring commencement ceremonies. There were 115 master's degrees and 212 undergraduate degrees conferred.

CU receives $12,500 gift from Taylor County Bank

Story from Campbellsville University
Campbellsville University has received a gift in the amount of $12,500 from Taylor County Bank, according to an announcement from Dr. Michael V. Carter, President. The gift specified an allocation of $10,000 to the Ransdell Chapel and $2,500 to the Big Maroon Club corporate sponsorship.

TCB has given $20,000 of their ongoing $38,500 pledge for the Ransdell Chapel, and they have given $7,500 of their $12,500 pledge for to the Big Maroon Club corporate sponsorship.

    The 2008 Adair County High School Girls' Golf Team starts its 21-event schedule with a trip to Russellville on August 2, 2008, to play in the Russellville Invitational.

    The August 2, 2008, tournament is the first of six we are definitely scheduled to appear in, with the possibility of a seventh when the Girls State Tournament is played October 6, 7, and 8, 2008 in Bowling Green, KY.

    We will be hosting a Building Fund Auction on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 4:00pm at Beechgrove Separate Baptist Church, 2 Miles down Highway 900, Glens Fork, KY 42741. We have been graciously blessed with donations from our community as well as surrounding communities. Our Youth Group will also be serving food and drinks to raise funds.
