Fence lizards harmless. Kids played with them lots

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

About: Photo

Looks like your garden variety Fence Lizard. They are harmless. My kids used to catch them and play with them all the time when they were young. They don''t seem to have teeth, because if they try to bite, it doesn't hurt.

The mystery animal is a desirable fence lizard

Ed,

The photo of the "unknown" animal is that of the Eastern Fence Lizard. The scientific name is Sceloporus undulatus. These are harmless lizards that are actually very desirable to have around since their diet consists largely of insects.
