Letter: Smoking ban question a difficult one HEALTHCARE ISSUES: Smoking ban Ed, I remember living in Ohio when this issue came to vote. Where I thought it wasn't fair, is when one community would ban, and the neighboring community would not. In Ohio, the ban was eventually made statewide. This leveled the playing field for all businesses. Almost all restaurants that have non-smoking, and smoking sections, do not have the needed ventilation to pull the smoke away from the non smoker. It's like getting a cheese pizza with one anchovy on it. The whole thing will taste like anchovy. And the smell. . .ugh! I am a past smoker, also believe that smokers have rights too. It is a difficult issue. I do know that sitting in a restaurant and having a smoker in the table next to non smoking is not as enjoyable an experience as total non smoking. This debate will go on. s/Jerry Marshall 2008-07-15 11:35:39 | Comments | Printable version | See topic Letters and Reader Feedback
