Adair/Clinton 14-16 year olds are Kentucky State Champions! ColumbiaMagazine.com SPORTS Now it is on to South Bend, IN, where team will compete for National Regional Title! Citizens will have opportunity to support team with tickets on houseboat weekend, at roadblocks on Friday evening, July 18, 2008. For the second straight year, Adair County Little League Softball has a Kentucky State Champion. On Monday, July 14, 2008, the 14-16 year old Adair/Clinton team captured the Senior League State Championship at Franklin-Simpson Community Park in Franklin, KY. They undefeated North Oldham team, last year's state champion, by a score of 8-0. Adair/Clinton will be representing Kentucky at the Senior League Regional Tournament to be held in South Bend, IN, next weekend. Members of the team from Adair County are Meredith Corbin, McKenzie Martin, Hailey McBeath, Hailey Burton, Dariann Smith and Shauna Davis. Members from Clinton County are Chelsea Brown, Chelsea Sampson, Kayla Walls, Brooke Boils, Samantha Pillar and Maria White. The manager is Mendel Sexton and coaches are LaGene Corbin and Kathy Walls. The team will be needing funds to make the trip to South Bend and will be selling changes on a houseboat weekend in also a weekend in a two bedroom floating cabin. To help in the fund raising effort, see any team member of parent for details. The team will also be having a roadblock this Friday, July 18, 2008, from 3:00pm to 8:00pmCT. Please support these young ladies as they represent Adair County and Kentucky in the national regional tournament in South Bend.
