Remembering Delphus Frankum: July 8, 1930 - June 30, 2008

By Dr. Phil Aaron

Delphus was my patient and my friend. He had many medical problems and had a remarkable resilience to bounce back from adversity. He was a fighter; he fought hard and was tough

But it's not his toughness that I choose to address today. It is his kindness. You know we can all learn from success. If you want to start a business you look to someone to copy who has been successful in business. Take Walmart for example, America's most successful business. When you walk into Walmart you are met by a friendly greeter who welcomes you and thanks you for coming to Walmart.

ColumbiaMagazine.com receives 1st Mega Yard Sale

This is big. As might be expected, it is a Russell County innovation. The first "Mega" Yard sale. CM has posted many "Multi," "Huge," and "Big" Yard sale, but leave it to trend leaders in Russell County to come up with a "Mega" Yard Sale.

It's not very far away. North 127 is rightfully considered by Adair Countians as Greater Millerfield. For Columbians, North 127 in Russell County is about as close as exotic Adair County locales like Dirigo or Feathersburg. If you've never been to a Mega yard sale, this is a chance to add the experience to your list of Things I've Done:
Mega 10-party yard sale, Russell Springs, N. 127
Mega 10 party yard sale. Thursday, July 3, Friday July 4, and Saturday July 5, 2008. New items every day. From intersection at Dairy Queen in Russell Springs, go North 127 3 miles. Turn right on Robertson Road, then 2nd drive on right. From Millerfield on 76, go to the end of 76. Turn right and will be 1st blacktop on left. (Robertson Road about 500 feet) then 2nd drive on right. Signs are posted.
