Dr. Joseph Owens says university helped raise his sights

By Linda Waggener, assistant director of university communications

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. "If you wonder why I'm passionate about the work President Michael Carter is doing for the next century," Dr. Joseph Owens said at the Campbellsville University Church Relations Council banquet, "it is because Campbellsville, through the power of almighty God, helped me to look beyond what I could see, so that I no longer feel as if I have to, I get the privilege to be a part of this vision."

Dr. Owens used Joshua 17: 17-18 as his text and shared how his attitude had changed from that of "is this all I get?" to a deeply held belief that we are called to "look beyond what we can see."

Feedback: On Good Samaritans among us

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

I would just like to reach out to Pam Kermeen. My heart goes out to her. My son Nicholis Kimbler and Daniel were good friends in school, and are still friends even though their lives are going in different directions.

I keep him informed at UK every time Pam writes about her son, and I cry every time read her updates. I could not begin to imagine what has to be going through her mind or how she is feeling. I would like to suggest if there isn't one, maybe the family members around the surrounding counties with spouses or children overseas could form a support group with each other.
