In a year in which "change" is the buzzword in American politics, Lindsey Wilson College students elected to stay with the status quo.

William Andrew Sadler III was re-elected president and Jeremiah Burd was re-elected vice president of the Lindsey Wilson Student Government Association for the 2008-09 school year. The two were introduced at the college's annual spring formal, held Friday night, April 11, 2008, in Biggers Sports Center.

Sadler, a business administration junior from Glasgow, KY, served part of the 2006-07 school year as SGA vice president before being unanimously elected president last spring.

He and Burd, both of whom are 2005 graduates of Glasgow High School, faced token opposition this spring.

Sadler is only the second student in Lindsey Wilson history to be elected to two consecutive terms as the college's student body president.

Sadler said that his goals for the 2008-09 school year are to continue to increase student involvement and to expand the amount of activities offered by SGA.

"I am humbled and very appreciative to be given the opportunity to serve my fellow students once again in this office," Sadler, the son of Bill and Cindy Sadler, said. "I look forward to continuing to serve as the voice of the student body and continue the college's tradition of serving 'every student, every day.'"

As president of the college's student government, Sadler also is the student representative on the Lindsey Wilson Board of Trustees.

In addition to his work with SGA, Sadler has been a resident assistant, a member of Responsible Alcohol Values through Education and has been named to the college's Dean's List.

An accounting junior from Cave City, KY, Burd has served as SGA treasurer and is also a member of the college's accounting club.

Lindsey Wilson administrators say they have been impressed with the accomplishments during the Sadler-Burd administration, and they look forward to working with the students for another year.

"In the seven years I've worked with SGA, Mr. Sadler and Mr. Burd have been two of the best leaders in the organization," Lindsey Wilson Dean of Students Chris Schmidt, said. "It's not surprising they were overwhelmingly re-elected by their peers because they have always kept the students and college at the center of whatever they have done."
