Not Ernie's Lincoln

2008-02-25 - Atlanta, GA - Photo By Linda Waggener.
It's not Ernie Curry's Lincoln up on the roof, as was documented on Jamestown Street in Columbia back in 1997, however, I was reminded of it at the HardRock Cafe in downtown Atlanta where they hoisted the car pictured here onto the side of their building to draw attention. While Atlanta has a fine downtown plus the Georgia Aquarium, and it's a great place to go for a conference/ I'd still rather live in Columbia. The Columbia! Magazine article on Ernie's car art appeared in print Issue#14 of ColumbiaMagazine before it became a dot com publiction. You can view it in the archives. Click here to read about it. LETTERS & FEEDBACK

To Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com

Thank you very much for taking such a beautiful picture of my family cemetery.

My grandmother and grandfather is buried there, Mevin and Queen Janes.

I live in Illinois and haven't been down there in a very long time.My grandparents lived at the first house past the cemetery.

There's a lot of childhood memories down there. Thank you again.

Adair Co. ex-pat spots local license plate 1,000 miles away

LETTERS & FEEDBACK

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

I am in Texas. Yesterday Friday, February 22, 2008, I was traveling through Llano and Burnett, TX...was at a red light...what did I see but a SUV with a KY license plate...with Adair County tags!

I was so excited and wanted to stop in order to speak with possibly a hometown person. However, my husband and I were with another couple who did not have time to stop!

s/Anna Wethington Logue

Recalling Columbia as the Town of the Week

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

I was driving to Louisville on the previous weekend, and I had just started listening to Michael Feldman's show when they threw the dart and it landed on Columbia. I was thrilled. Given the show was not heard in the Columbia listening area it was just a fluke that I happened to hear it.
