ENCORE shines with excellence even when things go

"I witnessed 14 girls go from tears and sad faces to smiles and performance pride as they had the opportunity to share a song from their heart as the WHAS 11 camera rolled," - MISS CYNDI CROWDER

To ColumbiaMagazine.com readers

For the past six years, Adair County has had something to smile about when it comes to ENCORE.

From their diligence and hard work in rehearsal to superb performances all over the state and country, ENCORE students have shined with excellence!

I want to express my thanks and admiration to 14 young ladies and their moms for their shining example of excellence even when things go wrong. This past Thursday as we anxiously awaited each delay to board a plane to take us to Disney, it happened. Our flight was cancelled.

After trying everything possible to make the trip happen, it was with tears in my eyes that I had to share the unwelcome news.

Disappointment and sadness was felt by everyone. However, as we slowly began to take in everything that had occurred (and after a phone call from a relative to WHAS 11 news), I witnessed 14 girls go from tears and sad faces to smiles and performance pride as they had the opportunity to share a song from their heart as the WHAS 11 camera rolled.

As the director, that had to have been one of the proudest moments I have had. To take a disappointment and turn it into a gift of music on Tv was a testament to their character and maturity.

Thanks to all of you here in Columbia for your support and encouragement through all of this.Keep watching and listening for future performance of ENCORE.

Sincerely,
s/Miss Cyndi Crowder
ENCORE Director
