Fred Corbin airlifted to UL following accident

Alfred Corbin treated at Westlake for neck injuries. Two Corbin vehicles stopped to make turn onto KY 551 from Campbellsville Road when third vehicle strikes rear of one, causing chain reaction

A three-vehicle accident at the intersection of KY 55 & KY 551 resulted in injuries to drivers Alfred Corbin, 75, and Fred Corbin, 57, both of Columbia, KY.

The accident occurred at just past noon, at 12:33pm CT, Tuesday, November 28, 2006.

Fred Corbin was treated at Westlake Regional Hospital (WRH), Columbia, KY, and flown from there to the University of Louisville Hospital.

Alfred Corbin was treated at WRH, Columbia, for neck injuries.

Noon time crash on KY 55

The three vehicles involved in the noon chain reaction accident looked like this after occupants were removed. In the front is the pickup driven by Alfred Corbin, Columbia, KY; sandwiched between is the pickup driven by Fred Corbin, also of Columbia; and in back, the semi trailer driven by James Clark. Alfred Corbiin was treated for neck injuries at Westlake. Fred Corbin was treated at Westlake and then airlifted to UL Hospital, Louisville. Members of Adair County Rescue Squad can be seen at right. ACRS Chief Wendell Taylor and Lt. Jerry Rector can be seen in the right hand side of the photo. ACRS provided extrication of Freddie Corbin and assisted the Adair County EMS.

Comments re Photo 22814 Veterans monument at Tabernacle

How wonderful for the Giles brothers to do this to honor the veterans. My husband, Dr. E. W. Grant, has family buried in this cemetery. Thank you, Alvin and Travis Giles, for being such good citizens.

Christmas Tree is going up this afternoon

The Christmas in Colulmbia Christmas Tree is going up this afternoon at around 3:00pm CT, today, Tuesday, November 28, 2006.

The Christmas Tree is a L.E.A.D. Adair County project for Christmas in Columbia.

The tree was donated by Joe Lynn Barbee. The tree will be on the Adair County Courthouse Lawn. - CINDY HARRIS

Adair Veterans List update November 28, 2006

A beautiful letter requesting prayers for a family with a loved one in Iraq. Letters from James Orley Absher, Robbie Bell, and Lee Ann Roy add five names to the Veterans List

To Columbia Adair County Chamber Members,

Just a reminder of Tuesday's meeting, November 28 at 11:45 AM at the Lindsey Wilson College Dining Center for an important community meeting on Postsecondary Education. Jim Applegate, Vice President of Academic Affairs Council on Postsecondary Education will be our guest speaker. He will discuss the challenges we face in Adair County and Kentucky's quest for education excellence, including statewide efforts to get more of our citizens through high school, into college and graduating with degrees.
