Jamie Salyers is new youth leader at Columbia UMC By George Kolbenschlag "I believe our youth understand the world and are deeper thinkers than we sometimes give them credit for. They are plugged in to the world..." - JS Casey county native and Lindsey Wilson graduate Jamie Salyers has been selected as director of the children's and youth program at Columbia United Methodist Church. Salyers brings broad experience to the church's program. He earned his master of arts in Christian leadership, bachelors of arts degrees in both history and Christian ministries and an associate's degree in social science at Lindsey Wilson College. While at Lindsey Wilson, Salyers also served as an assistant chaplain and bookstore clerk. Since his graduation from Lindsey Wilson in 2010 he served at Richmond UMC for five years as multi-ministry center director. He also served as youth director of Berea UMC for five years and taught social studies at Lincoln County middle school.
