Letter: kudos to good bus diver, shame on ones not stopping when sign is out

Lou Ann Flanagan writes:
We were following a bus Thursday, Nov 8, 2018 on Tutt Street and the bus driver would have to basically block the road to keep cars from flying by. One even pulled out of their drive as the bus was getting ready to unload. Kudos to the bus driver for watching over the students and shame on the drivers who kept trying to pass the bus when the stop sign was out! This happens everywhere and we need to call out those drivers and thank the bus drivers who do all they can to protect our students. --Lou Ann

History from Mike Watson: God Bless America!

By Mike Watson

One century has passed since the 'War to End All Wars' raged in Europe. We commonly refer to this first true global conflict as World War I, a name that would not be necessary had there not been a second war so close on the heels of this one. Dr. Gilbert Treadway, Professor of History at Campbellsville College, now University, would often state in class: "A day will come when there will be no distinction between the First and Second World Wars, they will be spoken of collectively." This is already becoming true.
