Operation Christmas Child off to big start Click headline for story with photos. This year's Operation Christmas Child dropoff week opened today, with 227 OCC boxes pouring in from lots of Adair County organizations. The annual Samaritan's purse project is a favorite of many Adair County residents, families, churches and groups who spread the joy to millions of children around the world by filling shoeboxes with a wow item--like a doll or soccer ball--other fun toys, school supplies, hygiene items, other items as well as notes of encouragement. OCC National Collection Week is November 12-19, 2018. The Adair County central drop off location this year is located at the Columbia First Church of the Nazarene Wheet Fellowship Building, 1200 Jamestown St., Columbia, KY 42728. Collection week hours of operation are as follows:
