Delmer R. Conner, 93, Russell County, KY (1925-2018) He was a native of Russell County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of his death. Anthony (Pops) York, 97, Casey County, KY (1920-2018)  Throughout his lifetime, Mr. York worked at a service station, feed store, car lot, farmed, and operated a grocery store and gas station. He also worked at King's Department Store and managed Baldwin's Men's Store and Casey Dry Goods, which later became the Dollar General, which was the second Dollar General store in the chain. For his 90th birthday, Mr. York was gifted a self-propelled push mower, and could frequently be seen mowing his, as well his family's yards, as well as the grounds at Brush Creek Cemetery. In 2013, he was presented with a well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award. He was a native of Casey County, KY and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Ethel Monroe York & Effie Austin York and the widower of Vodella Thomas York. He leaves 20 direct living descendants, spanning four generations. Anthony "Pops" York, age 97, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018, surrounded by his loving family at the Casey County Hospital in Liberty, KY. The funeral service will be held at 12pmNoonCT/1pmET, on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Liberty with Bro. Brad King, Bro. Jimmy Brown and Bro. Joe Hatchett officiating. Burial will follow in Wilkerson Cemetery. Fall from Wolf Creek Dam leaves teen critical From Larry Smith, The Big Dawg General Manager, 99.9 FM Radio A 17-year-old male has fallen from the guardrail viewing area just south of Wolf Creek Dam on the Lake Cumberland side, not from the higher lookout on the Cumberland River Side, according to the Russell County Sheriff's Office. First Responders are on the scene. The victim fell approximately 200 feet and was partially in the water when reached by boat by members of South Russell Fire Department and Russell County EMS.
