Six drug arrests made by Adair County Sheriffs Office Six face drug-related charges. Arrests made after long investigation. Sheriff Harrison Moss and all ACSO Deputies, including lead investigator Deputy Justin Cross, involved in operation. Two of those arrested had outstanding bench warrants from Adair County. Note: Charges/allegations are not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by law enforcement is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding. KY Treasurer Ball returns $4.7 million in unclaimed property A big believer in property rights, Kentucky State Treasurer Allison Ball's office works proactively to return unclaimed property. On one occasion, her staff notified a man that he had about $60,000 to claim. The man, who had recently lost his job, explained that this check had come at the perfect time and would be vital in helping him keep his family afloat during the difficult financial time. Mrs. Norma Ann Cissell, 80, Taylor Co., KY (1937-2017) She professed faith in Christ and was of the Catholic faith. Mrs. Cissell retired from the Fruit of the Loom plant in Campbellsville after many years of dedicated service. She was the wife of William Charles "Charlie" Cissell, who preceded her in death on June 18, 2007. She had a big heart, living her life as a gift to others, and was a close and trusted friend to all that knew her. Mrs. Mary Esther McVay Russell, Taylor Co., KY (1947-2017) She was a former administrator of a nursing home until her retirement. She professed faith in Christ and attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. As a young lady, she was very athletic, and in 1965 was named MVP of the World - Softball. Though she was fiercely independent, she had a big heart and loved cooking and caring for her family and friends. She was a native of Biloxi, MS. She was a member of a respected family, the daughter of the late Stewart Roy & Elizabeth (Ewing) McVay and the widow of Clayton Howard Russell. She leaves five direct living descendants.
