COLUMBIA, KY - Fourth-ranked Lindsey Wilson football hosts fifth-ranked Southern Oregon at 1pmCT on Saturday, November 25, 2017, in the NAIA Football Championship Series Quarterfinals at Blue Raider Stadium, 928 Russell Road, Columbia, KY

The Blue Raiders (11-0) are hosting the quarterfinals for the first time in the program's history. It marks the third appearance in the final eight for Lindsey Wilson. The Blue Raiders won last week's FCS first-round game 63-49 over No. 9 Southeastern (FL).

James Marion Giles, Jr., Adair County, KY (1961-2017)

He was one of eight children, seven of whom survive, of the late James Marion & Thelma Hudson Giles. He was a native of Adair County and a resident of the county at the time of his death. His final resting place will be in Tabernacle Cemetery, in the Green River, Adair County, heartland of the Gileses. He will be missed by all who knew him and cared for him .

The funeral service for Buster Giles will be Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 1pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Gene Conover officiating. Burial will be in Tabernacle Cemetery, 91 Tabernacle Cemetery Road, Adair County, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT Saturday, November 25, 2017, at the funeral home.

Coco, the answer to the mystery: Where's the dog?

I have a good friend named Patty. We were comparing notes about parents who sadly undergo dementia. Her story was more compelling than mine on this day.

Here's Patty's story:

Mama, bless her heart, got Alzheimers pretty bad near the end of her life and got really, really confused.

I was going to Lindsey Wilson at the time, working on finishing a paper. She kept coming into my bedroom where I was writing until I said, "Mama, if you can just let me finish this page, I'll be in there with you."

Betsy Trotter, 74, Adair Co., KY (1943-2017)

She was a member of Columbia First Church of the Nazarene. She was a native of Adair County, KY, was a resident of the county at the time of her death, and her final resting place will in the county. She was a member of respected South Adair County family, the daughter of the late Roach & Mary Magdalene Wilson Jessie. She leaves 11 direct living descendants.

Ova Lee Monday Smither, Casey County, KY (1924-2017)

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Liberty. She was a housewife. Ms. Smither will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was the daughter of Andrew "B" & Sara Elizabeth "Lizzie" Lay Monday and the widow of Basil Smither. She leaves 12 direct living descendants.
