Houston, TX residents given two semi truck loads of supplies

Drive's goal was one semi for Houston; J.O.Y. Ministries effort sent two loaded semi's to help the residents of the storm stricken area. Response was amazing. One 10 year old gave summer's earnings from babysitting pay

From Maggie Coleman, J.O.Y. Ministries; compiled by Linda Waggener

As Hurricane Harvey began torturing the residents of south Texas, the people of Adair County began thinking of them and moving towards lending help.

J.O.Y. Ministries had just been through a move of its location, however, the location on the square would be used for charity one more time before new owners come in. The word went out, "If you have turned the news on you know about the tragedy Texas is facing right now. One of our board members, Tyler Absher, will be taking a semi truck load of items to Texas this weekend if roads are permissible. If anyone would like to help/donate in any way you may drop items off at the JOY Crisis Center on the square in Columbia.
