Diane Wallace: Sundog spotting nearly a spiritual experience

My first impression was, is this a rainbow? I could not even imagine how what I was seeing could be created.

After sighting the Sundog and having no idea what it was, no one I spoke to had seen it, nor knew what I was talking about. When I saw your photo I was thrilled someone knew what it was.

Friendly faces frequent the roads in rural south central KY

By Linda Waggener

Along the back roads of south central Kentucky, the tradition calls for a wave or a nod whether we know each other or not. Ever since one of our own went off to Butler University and wound up marrying a Hoosier, we've been on the receiving end of their brand of "Kentucky humor". We've forgiven it, except for maybe the one unforgettable ditty that went this way, "One Kentuckian said to another, I seed'ja and know'd I know'dja so I jest retch up and wove atcha."

Neighbor from nearby county re-considers trips here

Comments re photo 69813 Principal Youngs 4x4 and trailer after fire

Name withheld writes:
As someone in a neighboring county I find this to be a monumental smear of nastiness across Adair County. Mr. Reed is so right to get out of there and Mr. Young should do the same. . . Waste of precious time and talents in such a vindictive environment and yes, terrorism! I used to enjoy visiting Columbia, especially since it now offers wine AND Wal-Mart! But, after this, I may never find myself there again. - Name withheld who wrote: "I don't want my property to be up in flames"

Thanks, Neighbor - As requested, your name is being withheld. We hope you reconsider.
