He was the patriarch of a highly regarded Gradyville, Adair County, KY, family. He was the son of the Willie W. & Nellie Janes Burris, and the widower of Willie W. & Nellie Janes Burris. He leaves 10 direct living descendants.

Burial will follow the service in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4:30pmCT, Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at the funeral home.

STEM Club and College Prep Seminar Class join forces for ambitious project

The retail price for a 3D printer ranges from a few hundred dollars at the low end of the spectrum to several thousand dollars for more luxurious models. Without that kind of money, the only other option would be to build one, which is what a few dedicated and tech-minded students at Adair County High School are currently doing.

LWC Men's Swimming falls to West Virginia Tech

The Lindsey Wilson men's swim team suffered a 124-81 dual meet setback to West Virginia Tech on Saturday at the Holloway Center Natatorium.

Iker Larzabal and Clemens Paetzold were the lone Blue Raiders to win events on the day, each capturing a pair of victories in individual events.

Larzabal secured the first win on the day in the 200-yard freestyle. He touched the wall in one minute and 49.03 seconds, edging out the second-place finisher by 0.28 seconds. His time was good enough for a national "B" standard. He would later add a victory in the 100-yard freestyle event, recording another "B" cut with a time of 48.82, topping the field of six swimmers.

LWC Women's Swimming wins five events

The Lindsey Wilson women's swim team earned their first dual win of the season on Saturday as the Blue Raiders took down West Virginia Tech 110-79 at the Holloway Center Natatorium.

Lindsey Wilson won five of the 11 events on the day and added five runner-up finishes.

New resources for missing persons cases

Frankfort, KY - Citizens of Kentucky can contribute to the solution of missing persons cases throughout the state and country by using a powerful search engine available free of charge by the U.S. Department of Justice.

The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) is a national, centralized repository and resource center for missing persons and unidentified decedent records. It is a free, online system that can be searched by medical examiners, coroners, law enforcement officials and the general public from all over the country in hopes of resolving these cases.

Gladys Campbell Smith Stovall, Taylor Co., KY (1932-2016)

She professed faith in Christ and attended First Church of God. She was a retired employee of Taylor County Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Lacy Campbell and Annie Bailey Campbell, and the widow of Kenneth Smith and later of Carl J. Stovall. She leaves one direct living descendant.

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY- "No one likes a coward," Dr. Kevin W. Cosby, senior pastor of St. Stephen Church in Louisville, Ky., said while preaching to Campbellsville University's freshmen FIRST CLASS students in Ransdell Chapel on October 3, 2016.

Cosby defined "valor" as one who has courage. Yet Cosby also clarified that to have valor did not mean not to experience fear.

"Fear is not an evil emotion, but to let fear control you is not Christian," Cosby said.
