Kindergarten students practice counting

2016-09-17 - Campbellsville Elementary School, 315 Roberts Road (campus), Campbellsville, KY - Photo by Calen McKinney, Public Information Officer, Campbellsville Independent Schools (CIS).
Campbellsville Elementary school kindergarten students work hard each day to learn new math skills. In Leanna Cundiff's class, students recently practiced counting by seeing how many soccer balls were printed on a worksheet and then matching that number to a picture in another column. Students also practiced learning the primary colors by counting circles and then drawing them with the correct color of crayon. Cundiff's students also spend time each day writing their numbers. Chicago writer wants information on Crocus area family history

Zenobia Hurd writes:
I have been researching my family for over 20 years. I"m a descendant many of generations that lived in Crocus. in Columbia, all in Adair County. I've been looking for any archives of my ancestors; I've found some things, but not as much asI I thought. I'm looking for someone that possibly has expertise in this area. If you know of anyone I greatly appreciate it. I guess I should've mentioned: This is African American History. I live in Chicago. I've been there many times for research. I haven't really turned up a lot. My daughter just started at Kentucky State Universtiy, so I'll be in state more often. I'm hoping someone can connect me to a historian in the area - or should I say someone who knows the families history in this area. Zenobia Hurd, 312-662-9406.
Thanks - Good luck in your search. The first start might be the genealogy department at the Adair County Public Library, 307 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, Phone 270-384-2472, and ask for Ernestine Bennett or Jewell Kimbler, who have the information or know where it can be found. If you could send ColumbiaMagazine.com the names you've found in your search so far, that would be a good help.
