She was a member of Columbia First Church of the Nazarene and a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late William Wesley & Effie Pearl Garmon Matney, and the wido of Sam Fudge. She leaves seven direct living descendants.

Kara Fudge, 91, of Columbia, KY, died Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 8:28amCT at her home.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 11amCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville, KY, with Pastor Tom Legg officiating. Burial will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, 54 Chestnut Grove Road, Breeding, KY. Visitation will be after 4pmCT Monday, September 19, 2016, at the funeral home.


Kara Fudge, 91, Adair County, KY (1925-2016)

She was born July 27, 1925, in the Mell community of Adair County, to the late William Wesley & Effie Pearl Garmon Matney. She died Saturday, September 17, 2016, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 91 years, one months, and 21 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Fudge on February 10, 1999.

She was a member of Columbia First Church of the Nazarene and a homemaker.

Survivors include:
  • Two daughters and sons-in-law: Rhonda and Robert Shelton of Columbia, KY; and Felicia and Eric Troutman of Brandenburg, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Justin Bell, Roland W. Ridd, III, Shannon Shelton, Sarah Lewis

  • One great-grandson: Bobby Shelton

  • Several other relatives and friends
