Joyce Coomer: Driving in town

Experience following driver who appeared to be drunk or inattentive led writer to suggest center stripes are needed on City Streets - like Hurt Street.

By Joyce Coomer

I came down Hurt Street, from IGA to Guardian St., then down Burkesville Street to the square, a little bit ago.

I couldn't decide if the driver of the car in front of me was drunk, not paying attention to where they were going, or just plain didn't know how to drive as they were weaving from one side of the street to the other, mostly driving dead center.

Heads don't have to roll. But water taste problems must be fixed

Adair Countians have a right to be angry that this decade old, recurrent problem hasn't been fixed. They could demand heads to roll and resignations. But that Vicky Pike is asking for something different. She just wants the present management and board to fix the problem. And never let it happen again. Campbellsville and Cincinnati water systems have solved algal bloom taste problems. She says the local water district can, too.
Comments re article 85343 Anonymous source says drinking water problems nationwide

By Victoria Pike
Personal Commentary

I would like to see this problem fully addressed at the next water board meeting. That would include a plan of action on how the algae problem is going to be taken care of next year.

This is a yearly problem and we need to know as customers of the water system EXACTLY how it is going to be fixed next year. Campbellsville doesn't seem to have the taste and smell issue.
So what are they doing? How is Cincinnati Water Works addressing the problem?
