PAC chair pleased by Judge Vance ruling in wet/dry election case Note: We do not have a copy of Judge Judy Vance's ruling yet, but CJE Mike Stephens said that Judge Vance had thrown out a lawsuit challenging the validity of the March 5, 2016 Adair County local option election. Judge Stephens' said the action came this afternoon in Adair Circuit Court. By Shannon Sexton, CHair PAC On behalf of Progress in Adair County (PAC), we are pleased with the ruling passed down by Judge Vance this evening. We've always been confident in our efforts to end prohibition in Adair County and we had total confidence in the petition and election process. The people of Adair County spoke loud and clear on Election Day - todays ruling simply turned up the volume and removed any uncertainty. We will continue to do what we've always done - push for progress. It's happening all around us already. We are proud to be a part of it and excited to see what the future holds. - Shannon Sexton Shannon Sexton - PAC Chair 2016-07-14 20:39:13 | Comments | Printable version

JIM: Entertaining tales of Which County? By jim Thirty years or so ago, one of my older "kids" at Western kept me quite entertained with tales of "which county?" He or she lived very, very near the point where the lines of Metcalfe, Green, and Hart counties converge, so the family had utilities from all three counties. There were also issues of which school and (as I recall) to which county the property taxes went. And just yesterday, I encountered a brief note in the Adair County News which spoke of a house in Adair so close to the line, rain hitting on one side of the roof hit the ground in Russell County. And so it goes...or so it went, anyway. - jim 2016-07-14 12:49:07 | Comments | Printable version | See topic Jim: History

There may be other situations readers think of. At CM, we're still wrestling with what county a person from dynamic Dunnville is from, and have not the mind enough to wrap around the same question for Feathersburg, Elkhorn, Hardyville, or Prices Creek. Pokemon cannot help us on these great issues of the day. Or can it? - CM Click on headline for complete artickle By jim I feel the mailing address / place of residence pain in the "inconsistencies" you mention, as that very thing has caused a great deal of confusion over the years in who was from where (which county, that is) in military records.
