Writer fell through grate on Burkesville Street sidewalk Writer whose name is on file but chose to remain anonymous. His letter strengthens the argument for Mayor Hardwicks goal of removing tripping hazards from the sidewalks in Columbia. Since you are speaking on the topic of sidewalks in Columbia. There is a drain with a metal grate over it behind Red Brick Studios in the back alley. The drain is not properly covered and it is missing one of the slats. I actually fell into the drain during the first day of downtown days last year. The square was blocked off and I had just left First and Farmers Bank and was walking back to my car. James Henry (Jady) Jolly, 92, Center, KY (1923-2016) He was a retired farmer and member of the Seven Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he served as song leader, Sunday school teacher and treasurer. He was a World War II army veteran serving with the 10th Mountain Division. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. After retirement he became an avid golfer and was a member of the Diamond Caverns Golf Resort. He was the patriarch of a large, highly honored North Metcalfe County family. He was the son of the late Amos Esque and Anna Laura Henderson Jolly. His wife, Alyne Jolly, survives. He leaves 17 direct living descendants. Thielen, Executive Director Kentucky Retirement Systems FRANKFORT, KY - (2 Feb 2016) Kentucky Retirement Systems officials are encouraged by Governor Matt Bevin's proposed budget for Fiscal Years 2017 and 2018. The proposal, which was released early last week, recommends payment of the full ARC (Actuarially Required Contribution) for the three plans that receive a portion of their funding in the state executive branch budget (KERS Nonhazardous, KERS Hazardous, and the State Police Retirement System), plus an additional $44.7 million each year from the General Fund as a direct appropriation to KRS.
