Andy Beshear's statement on providing $17.5 million for budget

Attorney General Andy Beshear will send money from recent pharmaceutical settlements to help state general fund

By Terry Sebastian
News from Attorney General Andy Beshear's office

FRANKFORT, KY (2 Feb 2016) - Attorney General Andy Beshear made the following announcement at the House Budget Review Subcommittee during his testimony today on the valuable services his office provides taxpayers.

"At a time when every tax dollar counts, I'm pleased to announce today that the Office of the Attorney General is providing $17.5 million for allocation by the General Assembly in the upcoming budget. These funds are from two recent pharmaceutical settlements where the AG's office was able to recover damages for the Commonwealth. It is my hope that these funds are used wisely to lessen the proposed budget's impact on families and their safety. My office will be relentless in working to make this the safest state to raise a family." - - Attorney General Andy Beshear
