Jon Halsey: Standard practice producing more kleptrocracy, less democracy

jon halsey writes:
Supports the thoughts of many that there is not a whit of difference among the politicians in Washington. Follow the money and you'll see who is really controlling our representatives. As they are almost all on the side of "show me the money", no matter who is nominally in charge, they ALL win. If the money is there, it doesn't matter what the law is, the politicians will find a way to skirt the will of the people.

As support for what many might think is my seemingly outrageous claim, just look at the current OMNIBUS Budget Bill. This Bill flies in the face of what the overwhelming majority of voters and poll respondents have demanded of their representatives. The way it was constructed behind closed doors, forced thru the House and Senate with no public discussion allowed, no recorded votes and the close to unanimous consent and you begin to get the idea. Unfortunately, this has become standard practice and is more characteristic of a kleptocracy than a republic founded on democratic principles. - Jon Halsey, Knifley, KY

RPK got $250,000 from Rand Paul, can expect more

From a trusted source - but we'll take civilized comments on his or her idea writes:
Senator Paul Rand's campaign already has paid $250,000 to the Republican Party of Kentucky for the switch to the caucus method and according to all the major news sources, the campaign will owe a similar - possibly higher - amount to the RPK after the actual cost of the caucus has been calculated.

Were a jaded, cynical observer of things political speculate about such matters, a likely means of protesting the caucus might involve the consideration of offering a bigger check to the Republican Party of Kentucky.
