Miss Victoria writes of so much going in Greater Bliss, including the Second Story of the new Sleep Inn Hotel at this stage of construction on Monday, November 23, 2015. On the other side of Holladay Place, a Hardee's Restaurant is rising. In addition the poles for the half-a-million dollar lights at the Interchange at the Cumberland Parkway and KY 61 have arrived, sending Miss Victoria scampering for blinders for the stock at Miss Victoria's Pampered Angus Ranch, with 24 hour daylight conditions soon to become a reality.

State light shields could spare need for cow blinders

My friend Steve Lawhorn who lives in Russell Springs along side the brand new westbound Cumberland Parkway-US 127 exit said the state highway department agreed to put light shields on portions of the bulb clusters on those hundred foot tall interchange light poles next to his house. He remarked he liked them as the desired effect was obtained and actually quite pleasing to the eyes at night. - Robert Cumming

Greater Bliss: Where does one get cow size blinders?

This morning the light poles came in for the interchange lighting. The Greater Bliss Inn, across the street in Columbia, Sleep Inn Motel is getting its second floor. And our Hardee's is under construction.

This morning the poles arrived for the new lights around the interchange and lines are currently being dug for the electricity to run the new 4000 watt lights.

3,229, boxes packed and loaded in the semi-trailer headed for the distribution point in Boone, NC.
I'll have a complete summation of details in a day or two. In the meantime, thanks, everyone for helping us set a new record for Adair County, for pushing our drive well over our 3,000 shoe boxes goal, and for helping make Christmas so much better for 3,229 kids. - Mark Fudge

Clinton County Couple charged with drug offenses

ALBANY, KY) (Mon 23 Nov 2015) - 30-year-old Matthew Shelton and his wife, 30-year-old Maria Shelton, of Albany, were arrested on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, as a result of an investigation that was initiated by an anonymous tip.

Matthew Shelton was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree; 1st offense; (Meth), Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Maria Shelton was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree; 1st offense; (Meth).

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY – Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown is investigating a single vehicle accident that occurred last night in the 2200 block of Rineyville-Big Springs Road d (KY220).<

On 22 Nov 2015 at approximately 8:05amET, Danielle Yates (36) of Rineyville and four juvenile passengers were traveling eastbound on KY 220 in a 1992 Oldsmobile 98 Regency. For unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway striking a guardrail causing it to overturn and land in a nearby creek on its top.

On November 22, 2015, CPD Sgt Gary Roy was dispatched to the intersection of KY 55 south and Veterans Bypass to a reported auto collision with injuries.

Preliminary investigation shows that Jordan Moss of Columbia, KY, was traveling north on KY 55 in a 2012 F-150. Perry Combs of Hazard KY was traveling east on the Adair County Veterans Bypass in a 1999 Crown Victoria.

Columbia Adair County Fire Department called to Melson Ridge

On November 19, 2015 at approximately 5:10pmCT, Columbia Adair County Fire Department was dispatched to a reported mobile home fire at 2890 Melson Ridge Road.

Upon arrival firefighters located and were able to contain the fire to the utility room area of the home. There were 18 firefighters on scene for approximately 45 minutes.

The home, owned by Jeffrey Spencer, Sustained minor to moderate damage .

Mrs. Frances Nadene (Clements) Sears, 59, Campbellsville, KY (1956-2015)

Mrs. Sears was a homemaker. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended various churches throughout her life. She was the beloved mother of two children, the cherished grandmother of 11, and a proud great-grandmother to two.

Adair Sheriff's Office seeks information on Deputy impersonator

The Sheriff's Office wishes to make residents aware an individual has been stopping at homes in the county and impersonating a Deputy. The individual is a white male, under 6ft tall, with a husky build, and is bald or going bald. The male has been driving with a black pickup or SUV vehicle.

Sheriff Harrison Moss and Deputies want to stress fleet vehicles in the Sheriff's Office are all marked and Deputies when on duty are always in standard brown uniforms.

The Sheriff's Office, Adair Annex, 424 Pubilc Square, Columbia, KY, is investigating and asks residents to notify them by the Sheriff's Office (270-384-2776) or by Adair Dispatch (9-1-1) if they have any information or encounter the individual. - Deputy Adam Cravens
