John (J.C.) Shofner, Taylor Co., KY (1947-2015)

He was a member of Zion Separate Baptist Church and a retired employee of Crucible Steel in Elizabethtown. His wife of almost 50 years, Juanita Perkins Shofner, survives.

John (J.C.) Shofner of Campbellsville, son of the late John B. Shofner and Velma Underwood Shofner was born June 19, 1947 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 3:31pmCT, Saturday, November 21, 2015 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 68 years, five months, and two days.

Funeral service will be at 10amCT/11amET, Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Bro. Ronda Arnett. Burial will be at Zion Separate Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home



He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Zion Separate Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of Crucible Steel in Elizabethtown, KY.

He united in marriage to Juanita Perkins December 18, 1965.

Besides his wife, Juanita Shofner of Campbellsville, KY, he is survived by:
  • Two daughters: Tracy Shofner and significant other, Steve Handy of Campbellsville, KY; and Robin Brussell and husband, Dale of Elizabethtown, KY

  • One granddaughter: Peyton Cambron of Campbellsville, KY

  • One sister: Helen Sprowles and husband, Larry of Campbellsville, KY

  • Four honorary grandchildren: Jeremy Sprowles, Brylee Sprowles, Allie Hash Seaborne, and Megan Hash Gaines

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Garnett Durham.
