An early morning traffic stop leads to drug arrest From Adair County Sheriff's Office On Thursday, November 5, 2015, at approximately 9amCT Sheriff Harrison Moss and Deputy Aaron Rainwater initiated a traffic stop on a 2000 Ford being operated by Barbara Hammer, age 37 of Columbia, KY. During a search of the vehicle, numerous items used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine's were discovered. Hammer was arrested and lodged in the Adair Regional Jail on charges of operating a motor vehicle on suspended license, no vehicle insurance and manufacturing of methamphetamine 1st offense. Arrests are not findings of guilt. The rep came by to see how she was doing. I told him I couldn't do without her. She was a little dirty due to the recent rain and mud that followed. I gave her an A plus for service and was really thrilled to see the rep come by to see little ole me. Treats on the town drew 1300 children! By Brenda Mann, President Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce Saturday evening, ghost and goblins filled the Columbia Square for another successful Treats On The Town. An estimated 1300 children or more filled the streets for this year's traditional Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce Treats On The Town. Costumes which were scary, modern, traditional and cute lined the streets. This safe and fun Halloween event for our community's children was made possible by the generosity and commitment of businesses and individuals who provided treats and a friendly atmosphere for kids and families. As always, Billy Pickett and the Jaycees' cotton candy booth was the highlight of the evening. We offer a big thank you to the community, and Chamber event chairperson, Debbie Selby for offering Columbia-Adair County children a safe and friendly Halloween experience.
