An early morning traffic stop leads to drug arrest

From Adair County Sheriff's Office

A two vehicle collision in Adair County led to one person being injured and one arrested for DUI. On November 5, 2015 at approximately 3:30pmCT Deputy Brandon Hitch and Deputy Derek Padgett responded to a two vehicle injury accident at the intersection of Hwy 704 and KY South 55.



Deputy Hitch reported that Charles Tooley of Columbia was operating a Suzuki Sidekick south on Ky 55 when Louie Loy of Columbia pulled his 2001 Chevy Tracker from Hwy 704 into Tooley's path.

Tooley was transported to Westlake Regional Hospital for injuries sustained in collision. Loy was not injured, but was arrested and lodged in Adair Regional Jail for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs/alcohol 1st offense. Deputy Brandon Hitch is investigating the accident.
Arrests are not findings of guilt. An individual charged by police is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.
