Treats on the town drew 1300 children! By Brenda Mann, President Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce Saturday evening, ghost and goblins filled the Columbia Square for another successful Treats On The Town. An estimated 1300 children or more filled the streets for this year's traditional Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce Treats On The Town. Costumes which were scary, modern, traditional and cute lined the streets. This safe and fun Halloween event for our community's children was made possible by the generosity and commitment of businesses and individuals who provided treats and a friendly atmosphere for kids and families. As always, Billy Pickett and the Jaycees' cotton candy booth was the highlight of the evening. We offer a big thank you to the community, and Chamber event chairperson, Debbie Selby for offering Columbia-Adair County children a safe and friendly Halloween experience. Thank you to all of the following businesses and individuals for making this event possible: Adair County Jaycees, Adair County Public Library, Bank of Columbia, Columbia Christian Church, Columbia City Police, Community Trust Bank, County Attorney Jennifer Hutchison-Corbin, Adair County Clerk Lisa Greer, Sheriff Harrison Moss, First and Farmer Bank, Jessie Clark and Bobbie Sanchez, KY Community of Sharing, Adair County Jailer Joey White, Masonic Lodge/Eastern Star, Melson Ridge Separate Baptist Church, Mt Carmel United Methodist Church, Russell Heights Baptist Church, Staff Management, United Citizens Bank, Victory Community Church, WAIN Radio, Genesis Family Medical, Community Action Agency, Columbia Methodist Church, and the Adair County Fire Department. --Brenda Mann This story was posted on 2015-11-05 09:23:20
