ADAIR Band gives best performance of season - in State Finals

BOWLING GREEN, KY (Sat 31 Oct 2015) - The ADAIR Band has just given the best performance of the 2015 season at just the right time, in the finals of the KMEA Class AAA championship at L.T. Smith Stadium on the Campus of Western Kentucky University. They blew it out of the house, with as near perfect a performance as could be hoped for, and definitely the best performance of this season.

Now, it's in the hands of the judges, whose decision is expected at around 11pmCT, tonight.

Two cats' fates on Halloween: One good, one not

On Halloween night two young cats, one gray and white tabby, and one mostly gray tabby, with white paws, were on the Square.

Two young boys caught the mostly gray tabby, and were trying to figure out the safest thing to help it survive. They were in front of the funeral home, as we were leaving.

ADAIR Band in finals of State at E.A. Diddle

Others competing for AAA state title are Bourbon County, Russell County, and Boyle County High Schools

News from the Adair Band

Adair County High School Band won the AAA Semi-Finals in the State KMEA Marching Band competition at Allen County-Scottsville High School this afternoon, Saturday, October 31, 2015, and will compete tonight at 8:15pmCT in E.A. Diddle Arena, 1 Big Red Way, Bowling Green, KY, in for competition for the State AAA Championship.

The lineup for AAA tonight is:
- 08:00pmCT - Bourbon County High School
- 08:15pmCT - Adair County High School
- 08:30pmCT - Russell County High School
- 08:55pmCT - Boyle County High School
There's plenty of time to make it cheer us on. Diddle Arena is only about 1 hour 20-30 minutes from Downtown Columbia. - SHAMARIE

Christina Gribbins, 39, Taylor Co., KY (1976-2015)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a homemaker.She was a native of Taylor County and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was the daughter of he late Glenn Lewis and Mary Alice (Speer) Beck. She leaves eight direct living descendants.

Gov. Beshear appoints Alexander Barren/Metcalfe Circuit Judge

Jeffrey Gale Norris, 51, Cumberland Co., KY (1963-2015)

He lived his childhood and most of his adult life in Cumberland County, graduated Cumberland County High School. He attended the Rose of Sharon United Methodist Church while growing up and later Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church where he taught the Teenage Class on Sunday. Later in years he moved to Florida to help care for his brother, Gary Merrill Norris. He was a factory worker and truck driver before moving to Florida.

Gary Merrill Norris, 55, New Port Richey, FL (1959-2015)

He lived his childhood and young adult life in Cumberland County, graduated Cumberland County High School and then attended Western Kentucky University. He attended the Rose of Sharon United Methodist Church faithfully before moving to Florida. It always remained his home church. He was employed by Mallory Capacitor, Inc. in Glasgow, KY many years before relocating to Florida.

Mrs. Watson and I have truly enjoyed the Squarecrows. I had the opportunity to view them early on, but she did not until last Monday, the evening of the Silent City Tour. Richard Barnett, Taylor County, KY (1929-2015)

He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville. He was a native of Taylor County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of the late William Blain Barnett & Mary Liza Johnson Barnett.
