Ralph Roy Waggener: A well balanced education!

By Ralph Roy Waggener
Personal commentary

The arts in education belong! With all the people in our world and no two alike then why would we teach all alike?

Some people are going to play sports and this category is divided in itself with a wide variety of sports games.

Some are going to be Rocket Scientist, truck drivers, teachers of others, police and firemen, and FFA for farmers!

We are going to cut the arts? The bigger the selection of educational choices we can have the better for all.

Sheila Wood: ACPC: You ROCK!!!

Sheila Wood writes:

ACPC had a Fall Festival last night. There was something for everyone. The cost was not out of budget for a family to attend. From pumpkin voting to huge raffled baskets to hay rides, games and pictures taking and many more activities for children and their families. I am so glad we made the decision to attend. The Helm/Burton family enjoyed this well organized social event. Not a dull moment for the children or anyone that attended this festival. I just want to thank the ACPC staff the organizers and all the volunteers who help pull this event off. We will be looking forward to next years Fall Festival. ACPC you ROCK!!!! - Sheila Wood

Asks: What can be done about The Arts & Humanities decision?

Linda writes:
Well said George Kolbenschlag, and well said Cayce Davenport! This cutting of visual and performing arts as a career pathway from our public education is an outrage. Yes, we must have athletics, however, I really thought we as a state had progressed to including all other areas of intelligence, improving the balance of a K-12 experience for student development. What can be done to turn this faulty decision around? - Linda Waggener
