Ralph Roy Waggener: A well balanced education! By Ralph Roy Waggener Personal commentary The arts in education belong! With all the people in our world and no two alike then why would we teach all alike? Some people are going to play sports and this category is divided in itself with a wide variety of sports games. Some are going to be Rocket Scientist, truck drivers, teachers of others, police and firemen, and FFA for farmers! We are going to cut the arts? The bigger the selection of educational choices we can have the better for all. I'm no artist, can't sing and a lot of other things like roller skate that I just cannot do. I would like to see a swimming team and other programs added to our Adair County School System and I know, given the chance to add these programs, we can have them. The best thing for the Kentucky Board of Education would be to butt out. Even in construction: You increase cost all school system at least 5 times more than we could build our own school buildings, without your interference. You decide what and how teachers are to teach when it would be better if you let teachers who know their subjects teach in their own way. You could help get bad teachers out of the system by changing tenure laws to both protect good teachers and weed out the bad. Yes, keep the Arts Programs and see how many more programs you can add, not take away! Thank you for my say, - Ralph Roy Waggener Who dropped out of high school because of one very unqualified teacher. This story was posted on 2015-10-24 13:44:35
